Shure Signs Tokyo Police Club to a Multi-Year Endorsement Contract
MONTREAL – October 19, 2009 - SF Marketing, the exclusive distributor of Shure products in Canada, is proud to announce it has recently added rock band, Tokyo Police Club , to it’s roster of distinguished Canadian endorsers.
“ Tokyo Police Club represents the energetic spirit of the Canadian scene, and we are very excited about our long-term partnership with these artists”, states John Balash, Marketing Director for SF Marketing.
Tokyo Police Club formed in 2005 in Newmarket, On and consists of singer and bassist Dave Monks, keyboardist Graham Wright, guitarist Josh Hook, and drummer Greg Alsop. In their early days, the band started playing around the Toronto area and quickly developed a reputation
putting on lively, energetic shows.
Tokyo Police Club has appeared in numerous festivals including Edgefest and the inaugural Osheaga Festival in 2006. In 2007, they performed at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California, at Lollapalooza in Chicago, and Leeds Festival in England. 2008 saw them continue their Festival shows at Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Rock am Ring-Festival in Germany, and an opening stint on Weezer's Troublemaker Tour.
The band has made numerous television appearances, including MuchMusic, MTV, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson and on the popular TV show Desperate Housewives.
Tokyo Police Club was nominated for Group of the Year at the 2009 Juno Awards, and will perform as part of the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.
The band is currently working on their new album on Mom and Pop Records and will be touring throughout 2010.
